Grades 1–3
One main teacher, descriptive assessment and a calm start at school.
In this section we describe what and how we teach, from first grade to the eighth-grade exam.
In Grades 1–3 most lessons are taught by one teacher – the form teacher. English, PE and music are taught by subject teachers.
From Grade 4 teaching is subject-based. Grades 4–6 have their own classroom, while Grades 7 and 8 learn in subject rooms. For foreign languages and IT, classes are split into groups.
A project in every class. Each class carries out one cross-curricular project a year. It starts in September, and in June it presents the result: an exhibition, a guidebook, a game or a play.
Learning outside the classroom. Each class has at least four educational outings a year. Each outing is linked to a topic covered in lessons.
Support for anyone who wants it. Catch-up and enrichment classes take place at the same times. Students choose what they need in a given term and can change it.
