After-school activities

    After lessons we run interest clubs, sports activities and remedial classes – all free of charge.

    Rules

    Activities are free of charge and voluntary. They are run by our school's teachers.

    A student can attend any number of activities, as long as they don't clash with the timetable. Children signed up for the after-school club go to and from activities with the teacher in charge.

    How to enrol your child

    1. Choosing activities

      In September teachers present the activities in classes. The child chooses together with a parent.

    2. Signing up with the teacher

      Sign-ups are taken by the teacher running the activity, in person or via the e-register.

    3. Schedule

      By 20 September we publish the schedule with days, times and rooms.

    4. Activities begin

      Activities start in the first week of October and run until the end of May.

    5. Changes during the year

      After the first semester a child may join other activities if there are places available.

    Corrective exercises

    Corrective gymnastics is not a sports section but classes for children in Grades 1–3 who need posture exercises. It takes place twice a week. Children are referred by the PE teacher or a doctor, and start after the parent's consent.

    Catch-up classes

    We run eight groups: Polish and maths for Grades 4–6 and 7–8, English for Grades 4–8, and preparation for the eighth-grade exam in three subjects.

    Catch-up classes take place at the same times as enrichment classes. Pupils choose what they need in a given term.

    Specialist classes

    We run them as part of psychological and educational support, when teachers or specialists identify such a need:

    • corrective and compensatory classes;
    • speech therapy;
    • classes developing emotional and social skills;
    • classes developing talents;
    • hand therapy.

    The form teacher informs the parent about the proposed classes. The child starts attending after written consent from the parent.

    New activities

    Students suggest new clubs through the Student Council or directly to the school management. Every year we start one or two new clubs. This is how the chemistry club and the programming and robotics club began.
