Accident insurance
Accident insurance (NNW) is voluntary, and the group offer is chosen every year by the Parents' Council.
Three options
A parent may join the group insurance chosen by the Parents' Council. They can also buy an individual policy from any insurer, or not insure their child at all.
Who chooses the insurer
The group offer is chosen by the Parents' Council in June, for the next school year. The school is not a party to the contract and does not act as an intermediary.
The Council compares the scope of cover, the benefit amounts and the exclusions, and only then the price. We present the chosen offer to parents at the first meeting in September and in the e-register.

What to check before joining
Before deciding, it is worth reading the general terms of insurance, especially:
- exclusions, i.e. situations in which no benefit is paid;
- the benefits table, i.e. the amounts for specific injuries, not just the sum insured;
- additional benefits, such as reimbursement of the costs of treatment, rehabilitation and hospital stays;
- rules for sport, because competitive training is sometimes excluded or requires extended cover.
How to file a claim
Medical records
Keep the discharge summary from the emergency department, test results, a description of the injuries and documents from treatment and rehabilitation.
Accident report from the school
If the accident happened at school or during school activities, the parent receives a copy of the report. Please report the accident to the form teacher straight away.
Notifying the insurer
The parent reports the claim directly to the insurer, via an online form or by phone, giving the policy number.
Confirmation of the claim
Keep the confirmation and the claim number, which will be useful in further correspondence.
The claim is made by the parent. The school issues the report and certificates, and the parent handles further correspondence with the insurer.
Accident on school premises
Every accident at school has its own procedure, independent of insurance. We give first aid, inform the parents and call an ambulance if needed.
We draw up an accident report. The parent receives a copy and may raise objections.
