Trips and discoveries

Some lessons take place outside school – in the forest, at a museum, at the theatre or at the planetarium.

Every outing is linked to what you learn in class. What you see on the spot you'll remember better than from a textbook.

    Educational outings

Every class has at least four educational outings a year. You learn about nature in the forest and by the river, and about the past at the museum. We also go to the public library, the theatre and workplaces where you can see different jobs.

Outings take place during lessons and usually last a few hours.

    Class trip

Once a year every class goes on a trip – younger classes for one day, older ones also for two or three days. The form teacher chooses the destination together with the class and parents. We agree the cost of the trip with parents at the class meeting.

When a family is in a difficult situation, parents can talk to the form teacher or the school counsellor. Together we look for a solution so that no one has to stay at home because of the cost.

In the older grades you can help plan the route, prepare a map or tell others about the place you are visiting.

How to get ready for a trip

    1. Parental consent

You need a consent form signed by a parent to go on the trip. Bring it to your form teacher before the trip.

    2. Backpack according to the list

Pack according to the list from your form teacher. Take comfortable shoes, a drink and something to eat.

    3. Medicines and feeling well

If you take medicines or get travel sick on coaches, tell your form teacher before the trip.
