Admission to Year 1
Registration and application, criteria, documents and the next steps of admissions.
Every spring we admit children to first grade and to the pre-school classes for five- and six-year-olds.
This is the first question asked at every meeting with parents. The answer depends solely on the address where the child lives.
Your child lives in the school's catchment area. We admit them automatically, on the basis of a registration, with no points and no risk of not being admitted. However, the registration must be submitted within the admissions period.
Your child lives outside the catchment area. They take part in the admissions procedure and submit an application. We admit them to available places, and the order is decided by points-based criteria.
Admissions dates are set every year by the local authority that runs the school, the Municipality of Zielonogaj. We usually accept registrations and applications in March and announce the lists of admitted children in April.
We publish the exact dates for each year in the admissions timetable as soon as they are announced.
The number of classes for each year is approved by the local authority. If there are more registrations from the catchment area than expected, we open an additional class.
The catchment area does not always match the nearest school. The list of streets determines whether you submit a registration or an application.
It is a good opportunity to see the first-grade classrooms, the after-school club and the canteen, and to talk with teachers.
Sign-ups for the after-school club are separate from admissions. For the next school year they take place in June.
Registrations and applications are accepted at the school office, 7:30–15:30. You can start by filling in the online form.
