Parent meetings and consultations

We meet parents at meetings with the form teacher and at consultations with teachers, always on Tuesday afternoons.

    Meetings during the year

Meetings with the form teacher take place four times a year: in September, November, February after the winter break, and May. Between meetings, several times a year, we hold consultations with teachers.

All classes meet on the same Tuesday: Grades 1–3 at 17:00 and Grades 4–8 at 17:45. This way, parents of siblings in younger and older classes can attend both meetings.

    How a meeting works

The meeting takes place in the form teacher's classroom and lasts about 45 minutes. The list of rooms is posted by the main entrance, and we publish it in the e-register the day before.

The form teacher runs the meeting for the parents of the whole class. We discuss shared matters: organisation, trips, projects and the situation in the class. Individual students' progress is discussed one-to-one, after the meeting or at consultations.

Each meeting in the year has a fixed main topic.

    MeetingMain topic
Septemberorganisation of the year, learning requirements, election of the class parents' committee and a representative to the Parents' Council
Novemberfirst learning results, attendance, plan of trips and class events
February, after the winter breakmid-year grading results and the plan for the second semester
Maypredicted end-of-year grades and the end of the school year

    How consultations work

Consultations are short individual conversations with subject teachers. They take place on Tuesdays, from 16:30 to 17:30. All teachers are available then, as well as the school counsellor and school psychologist.

Please book a conversation in advance through the e-register. The teacher will reply with the time they will be waiting for you.

    1. Booking a conversation through the e-register

Please send the teacher a message a few days before the consultations. If you want to talk to several teachers, it is worth booking consecutive times.

    2. Room where the teacher is waiting

We publish the list of rooms in the e-register the day before. The same list is posted at the main entrance.

    3. A short conversation with a teacher

A conversation usually lasts from a few minutes to a quarter of an hour. That is enough to discuss grades, progress and current difficulties.

    4. A separate meeting for a longer matter

Complex matters that require the form teacher, the school counsellor or several teachers to be present are discussed at an arranged meeting.

    Meetings outside the schedule

You can also meet the form teacher and any teacher at another time. Please send a message via the e-register; we usually arrange a date within a week.

Urgent matters concerning your child's safety or health should be reported by phone through the school office. There is no need to wait for the next meeting.
