Earth Day: classes planted shrubs and cleaned up around the school

For Earth Day every class had its own task: we planted shrubs by the sports field, made new beds in the school garden and cleaned up the area around the school.
Grades 1–3 sorted the waste collected in the square and checked what goes into which bin. Grades 4–6 planted twelve fruit bushes along the sports field fence.
Grades 7–8 made two new beds and prepared labels with plant names. Along the way, as part of the Maths Around Us project, they measured how much water the garden needs each week.
Fruit bushes had long been on the Green Classroom project's list of plans. We bought the seedlings with funds from the Parents' Council.
