Days off lessons
When there are no lessons at school and how we provide care for children on those days.
Two kinds of days off
Not every day without lessons is the same. The type of day determines whether the school is open and whether you need to arrange care for your child.

How we set additional days off
The head teacher sets additional days off by 30 September each year, after consulting the teaching staff council, the Parents' Council and the Student Council.
In a primary school there can be no more than eight such days a year. They most often fall on the days of the eighth-grade exam and on working days between public holidays and the weekend. Once set, the dates are not changed during the year.

On every additional day off from teaching the after-school club is open from 7:00 to 16:00. We provide care for children whose parents have registered them in advance.
Registering lets us plan the number of staff and meals. We won't send an unregistered child home, but please register on time.
How to register your child for care
Request care
Send a message to the after-school club via the e-register at least a week before the day off.
Order lunch
The canteen serves lunch to children registered for care. Your child brings a snack from home.
Cancel if your plans change
The registration can be cancelled up to the day before the day off, also via the e-register.
Parents' questions
Can my child come to school on a day off from lessons?
Yes, if it is an additional day off set by the head teacher. The after-school club provides care from 7:00 to 16:00. On public holidays the school is closed.
Does care on a day off cost anything?
After-school club care is free of charge. Only lunch is paid for, charged the same way as on a normal school day.

The dates are shown in the calendar on this page and in the school year calendar. The calendar can also be added to your phone.
What if I forget to register my child?
Your child will be looked after by the after-school club. But please do register, because without it it's harder to plan staffing and meals.
