Safe winter break: rules on the ice, on the slopes and at home

Published: 16 January 2026 Categories: Safety

In form periods we reminded students of the rules for a safe winter holiday, and we ask parents to check the organiser of any trip before choosing it.

In the last week before the winter break, form teachers talked with their classes about frozen ponds, sledges and skis. They also discussed moving about safely after dark. Students in Grades 1–3 received reflectors.

The older classes also discussed safety at home and online. We talked about screen time, contact with strangers and who to tell about a worrying situation.

Organised holiday camps are registered in a database run by the regional education authority (kuratorium oświaty). It's worth checking this before signing a contract with the organiser.
