After-school club rules
The most important rules for your child's stay at and collection from the after-school club.
The full text of the rules is in the documents to download. In case of dispute, its wording applies.
Who can use it
The after-school club is used by children from pre-school classes and students in Grades 1–4 registered with a registration card. Students in Grades 5–8 can stay at the club without registering when they are waiting for extra activities, the bus or a brother or sister.
Times
The after-school club is open Monday to Friday, from 6:30 to 17:00. On days off from teaching it is open from 7:00 to 16:00 for children registered in advance.
Dropping off and collecting
Who collects. A parent, legal guardian or a person named in a written authorisation. The authorisation is submitted once per school year and can be changed at any time.
Age of the person collecting. The person collecting the child must be an adult. An exception may be an underage sibling – on the basis of a separate statement by the parent. The minimum age of such a person is set in the full text of the after-school club rules.
Going home alone. A child leaves alone only with written consent from a parent, stating the time of leaving. The consent is valid until withdrawn.
Punctuality
The after-school club closes at 17:00. Please collect your child before then. If lateness happens repeatedly, the head of the after-school club arranges a meeting with the parent and we look for a solution together.
When a child has not been collected by 17:00, we follow a fixed procedure.
When nobody has collected the child by 17:00
Phoning the parents
The teacher phones the parents on the numbers given on the registration card. The child stays in their care at the after-school club.
Phoning authorised persons
If the parents do not answer, the teacher phones the people named in the collection authorisation.
Informing the head teacher
If no one on the list can be reached, the teacher informs the head teacher.
Informing the authorities
As a last resort, once all other options have been exhausted, the head teacher or the teacher informs the police, who take over.
What the child brings
Indoor shoes, clothes suitable for going outside, a named water bottle and a snack if your child comes in the morning. Please provide a drink in a screw-top bottle and food that doesn't need refrigerating.
The after-school club is not responsible for items brought from home. Please don't let your child bring electronic devices, collectible cards or valuable items.
Rules we teach children
- we respect each other and the club teachers;
- we do not leave the room or the sports field without the teacher's permission;
- we look after the toys, games and equipment;
- we tidy up after ourselves;
- we tell the teacher about any problem – including one that concerns someone else.
When a child doesn't follow the rules, the teacher talks to them and informs the parent. We do not use punishments that involve excluding a child from play or banning them from going outside.
