After-school club daily schedule
Every day at the after-school club has a fixed rhythm, so you always know what comes next.
Mornings are calm, and after lessons there is time for lunch, activities, exercise, homework and play. The times are approximate – sometimes activities are a little shorter or longer.
Morning
6:30–7:15
Hello
You come to the after-school club and say hello to the teacher. You can play, draw or do puzzles at the table.
7:15–7:45
Mid-morning snack
You eat the snack you brought from home. Then you can read or draw.
7:45–8:00
Off to lessons
You get ready for lessons. The teacher takes the younger children to their classrooms.
In the morning there are no activities that need concentration and no movement games. It's time for a calm start to the day.
After lessons
11:30–12:55
After lessons and lunch
You come to the after-school club straight after your last lesson. Groups go to lunch in the canteen in fixed sittings.
13:00–14:00
Activity of the day
Activities on the theme of the day: art, building, reading, movement, and on Fridays cooking or music in turn.
14:00–15:00
Outdoors
We go out to the playing field or the playground. When it's raining or cold, we play in the playroom.
15:00–15:45
Time for reading and practice
You read or practise what you did in lessons. Older students do their homework, and the teacher helps when they don't understand something.
15:45–17:00
Play and going home
Board games, reading and play. This is when your parents come to collect you.
A theme for every day
The 13:00 activity has a different theme every day of the week.
| Day | Activity |
|---|---|
| Monday | art – we draw, paint and cut out |
| Tuesday | building and technical – we build with blocks and materials |
| Wednesday | reading – we read, listen and tell stories |
| Thursday | movement and team games |
| Friday | cooking or music, alternately |
Taking part in activities is voluntary. If you don't feel like it, you can read, draw or play in your own way during that time.
Reading and homework
From 15:00 it is time for reading and practice, and older students do their homework. The teacher will explain the instructions, check that you understand the task and suggest where to look for information. But the solution is up to you.
There are up to twenty-five people in a group, so it is not always possible to get everything done. The rest can be finished at home.
Outdoors
When it's warmer than 5°C and not raining, we go out to the playing field or playground for an hour. Clothes suited to the weather and shoes that can get dirty come in handy.
When parents arrive
Your parents can collect you at any time – there's no need to wait for activities to end. When the group is on the playing field, the teacher will bring you to the exit. The after-school club closes at 17:00.
