After-school club enrolment

    Parents register their child for the after-school club with one registration card, submitted once per school year.

    Dates

    WhenWhat it covers
    June, until classes end for the school yearenrolment for the next school year
    September, by 12 Septembersupplementary enrolment and registration of new students
    All year roundapplications as places become available

    June registration lets us plan the number of groups and teachers for September. A card submitted in June does not need to be confirmed after the summer holidays.

    Who can be enrolled

    We register children from the pre-school classes and students in Grades 1–4 whose parents work or, for other important reasons, cannot provide care before or after lessons.

    Students in Grades 5–8 can stay at the after-school club without registering when they are waiting for extra activities, the bus or a brother or sister. Staying at the club is free.

    What the registration card includes

    • the child's details and class;
    • planned hours – in the morning, after lessons or both;
    • parents' contact details with up-to-date phone numbers;
    • health information important for the child's safety, for example about allergies – given voluntarily and only for the after-school club teachers;
    • the people authorised to collect the child.

    If your child is to go home alone, attach consent to go home alone with the time of leaving to the card. The consent is valid until withdrawn.

    How to submit the card

    1. Getting the form

      The registration card and the collection authorisation can be downloaded below or picked up at the after-school club and the school office.

    2. Filling in and signing

      The form is filled in and signed by a parent or legal guardian. Please include all current phone numbers.

    3. Handing in the form

      Hand in the form at the after-school club or the school office. You can send a scan by e-mail and bring the original within a week.

    Criteria when places are limited

    When there are more registrations than places, priority goes, in this order, to:

    1. children of two working parents and of a working single parent;
    2. children from pre-school classes and Grades 1–2;
    3. children receiving psychological and educational support that requires care at the after-school club;
    4. children who travel to school from further away.

    There are usually enough places for all registered children. If not, the head of the after-school club informs parents of the decision by 15 September.

    Changes during the year

    Changes to hours, the list of authorised persons or contact details are reported in writing at the after-school club. The change applies from the following day.

    Withdrawal from the after-school club must be reported in writing, a week in advance.

    Parents' questions

    Do I need to register my child every year?

    Yes. The registration card is submitted for each school year, ideally in June. This way your child has a place in a group from the first day in September.

    Does the after-school club cost anything?

    No. Care at the after-school club is free of charge. Only lunches are paid for, if your child has them.

    Can my child stay at the after-school club on a day off from lessons?

    Yes. On days off from teaching the after-school club is open from 7:00 to 16:00. Please request care via the e-register at least a week in advance.

    Who can collect my child?

    A parent, legal guardian or an adult named in the authorisation. An underage sibling can collect the child on the basis of a separate statement by the parent, at the age set in the after-school club rules.

    Online registration

    The after-school club takes children from pre-school classes and Grades 1–4 and is open on school days from 6:30 to 17:00.

    After you send the form, the club manager will prepare a registration card for signature. On your first visit to the after-school club, you will sign the card and the authorisations for the people collecting your child.
