Classrooms and labs
Twenty-six classrooms and four subject labs in three zones of the building.
Layout
Each zone has its own cloakroom and its own staircase. On the first floor, Grades 1–3 occupy the west wing and Grades 4–8 the east wing. Younger and older children spend breaks in their own parts of the building.
| Zone | Floor | What is here |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-school classes | ground floor, east wing | 3 activity rooms, a playroom, a bathroom adapted to children's height, own cloakroom |
| Grades 1–3 | ground floor and first floor, west wing | 11 classrooms, a room for movement activities |
| Grades 4–8 | first floor, east wing, and second floor | 12 classrooms, 4 subject labs |
Classrooms
Each classroom has:
- a projector and screen;
- wireless network access;
- a whiteboard;
- space to display students' work.
In Grades 1–3 chairs and desks are height-adjustable. Fourteen classrooms also have an interactive display. We use them in lessons with a lot of visual work, such as foreign languages, science and geography.
Grades 1–6 have their own classrooms, which they return to after lessons in the labs. Grades 7 and 8 move to the subject labs for lessons.

Labs
The four labs are used for lessons in which students experiment, measure and build for themselves. Classes there are held in smaller groups.
We add to the labs' equipment every year, as needs and the budget allow.
| Lab | Equipment |
|---|---|
| Computer lab | 16 student workstations, a teacher's workstation, an interactive display |
| Science lab | 12 microscopes, experiment kits, field measurement equipment, anatomical models, an aquarium |
| Chemistry and physics lab | lab benches with water supply, a fume cupboard, equipment for physics experiments |
| Art and technology room | workbenches, sinks, material cupboards, tools for technical work |
Rules of use
Students enter the lab only with a teacher. At the start of the year each class learns the lab rules and confirms this with a signature.
Report damaged equipment to the teacher straight away, even if it broke by accident. Reporting does not lead to punishment, and working equipment is safe for the next group.
Hiring rooms
Outside school hours, rooms can be rented, for example for children's activities or a meeting of a local organisation. We rent rooms on terms set by the governing body. Applications are submitted at the school office, and the details are set out in the agreement with the head teacher.
